Ol' Timey Time

Date: October 26, 2011
Time: Approx 1220pm
Place: Some ol saloon in the desolate west
Situation: Children of adorable nature caught eyeballing candy, playing in ocean, and having way too much fun for their own good.

On Wednesday we headed into Sacramento, about 20 minutes from Davis. While there, we hit up "Ol Sacramento".
It is a fun little area with old west streets and builings for blocks and blocks.

We started with the Train Museum.
It was actually very fun.
We went in multiple trains...I suppose I've never stopped to realize just how BIG they are.
We went through old dining cars, sleep cars, steam engines, coal engines...you name it, we did it.

There is even a children's area with table after table of train sets to play with.
A kids dream come true.
Choo Choo.
Yes...I'm a poet and I didn't even know it. (Name that movie.....)

After the train museum we wandered "Ol Sac".
We are not going to get into why I think calling a town "Ol Sac" is funny. Keep in mind all I had growing up was 3 brothers...
That's why I insist on calling it Old Sacramento from here on out.

Old Sacramento was charming.
Tons and tons of darlign shops and boutiques. Lots a eataries and little coffee shops.
Fun stores and candy stores for the kids.

Oh yes...and the "Aunt Vera" tradition of getting that "old time photo" taken when you go to Old Sacramento.
I had a bit of a dilemma finding a suitable "get up" that was modest was a challenge, look closely..yup....thank you DownEast Basics for hiding my fancy underwear.

And, for a moment there, as I browsed dresses and hats jewelry, I realized why Bella has so much fun playing dress up.
Don't you love that little cowboy in front...best smirk ever.

That night we went back to the farmers in Davis. Live music, delicious food, a ride on the merry go round...and then off to Crepeville.

Crepeville.
Ah-Maze-ing.

There have been multiple "Crepe" places here in SLC and such. But mostly they overdo the crepes and I haven't been all that impressed.
Here, at Crepeville however, it's the real deal.
And they don't mess around.
Every kind of breakfast, lunch and dinner crepe you can think of.
Salads and fancy sodas.
And dessert.
Oh yes...dessert.

Dessert is what took us to Crepeville on Wednesday night.
Vera tried Nutella for the first time. First time EVER. I'm so proud.
The kids had straight Nutella and whipped cream on their crepes.
Alma with Banana and Nutella.
Me?
PB & Nutella Crepe...served warm with whipped cream.
Oh. My.

It think the kids liked it too...yes?
Then off to bed...where I drooled nutella on my pillow and awoke to a ghost shaking my bed (here).
"Sweet" dreams.
